First Virginia Detachment is captured by Sir Henry Clinton at
Charleston, SC. With the exception of the Ft. Pitt garrison,
and until 1781, only State Line and Militia were left as a defense
force. When the war ended for the First Virginia, there were
only five companies that could be accounted for and only two
officers who could trace their history with the Regiment for
more than two years |
